Karis was born on June 24, 1938, to Arthur Henry Myers and Vida Evalee Meltabarger Myers in Springfield, CO. He has five siblings: Sidney, Virgie, Arlis, Kathryn, and Judith.
After graduation Karis started working at the Colorado State Hospital in Pueblo, CO. During this time was when he met the love of his life, Wilma Jean Myers. They fell in love instantly and were inseparable. Karis and Jean married March 4, 1961. Up until his death, you never saw Karis without Jean. They were always together and were the perfect example of what love should look like.
Karis has three children: Jeff (Jennifer) Myers, Eric (Deb) Myers, and Jennifer (Ed) Toomey. He also has 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. All of whom he loved so very much.
Karis will be most remembered for his storytelling, sense of humor, and lectures. He loved food, especially Chinese and mexican food and sweets with his favorite being homemade banana nut ice cream. Last and most certainly not least, Karis had the most love for his family. He always attended birthday parties, plays and extracurricular activities. Most importantly he loved and supported every one of them despite their flaws.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM, on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Southwest Church of Christ. 1635 S. Pueblo, Blvd., Pueblo, CO. 81005.
