John “Jack” Musso, 78, went to be with the Lord Sept. 14, 2012. He was born in Pueblo, CO January 17, 1934. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joann; children, Cindy (Phil) Mendoza, Dena Musso, and John (Lori) Musso; son-in-law, Rocky Humphrey; grandchildren, Melissa (John) Schecter, Travis (Nicole) Humphrey, Brett (Jamie) Humphrey, Lindsey, Johnny, and Cody Musso; great-grandchildren, Logan and London Schecter, Trace and Addison Humphrey, and Sophia Fuller; brothers-in-law, Joe, Larry, and Gary Trujillo; sister-in-law, Diana Aragon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Humphrey; parents, Carlo and Agnes Musso; siblings, Henry, Charles, Tony, and Joe Musso, Mary Ciacco, Faye Jackson, and Bessie Payne; in-laws Irene and Joe Trujillo; and sisters-in-law, Juanita Roybal and Marie Gross. Jack attended Central High School. He was drafted into the US Army and served from 1954 until 1956. He and Joann were married Oct. 15, 1955 in Pueblo, CO and he worked and retired from the CF&I Steel Corporation for 34 years. In later years, he drove a bus for School Districts 60 and 70 and also the Rambling Express. Jack was a member of Holy Family Parish. He was a devoted family man ready with many stories of his childhood, fishing trips, bowling friendships, and watching his grandsons play ball… South High baseball and Katy football. Being with family brought him special pleasure. His illness brought many changes to his life which he faced with grace and courage. Memories of his kind nature and big heart are reflected in the things and people he leaves behind. Our thanks to all the special people caring for Jack these many months. His long-time physician, Dr. James Stjernholm, who coordinated his care with compassion and dedication; Dr. Donovan James and Dr. Lane and their team at the Wound Care Center who treated him with such warmth and encouragement. Thanks to the many doctors, nurses, staffs, and therapists at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital, whose professional care gave us the opportunity to bring him home again. Our special thanks to the Pastoral Care team, including Fr. Gary Kennedy, Sr. Darlene Maloney, Sr. Emily Phelan, and all the Eucharistic Ministers, whose constant faithful care warmed our hearts and got Jack ready for Heaven’s Gate. Thanks to Sangre de Cristo Hospice staff. To our family and friends, thank you for the visits, phone calls, cards, prayer, words of encouragement and food. You each touched and uplifted us. You have a special place in our hearts. May God continue to bless you for the “gifts” you have given us. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at Holy Family Church, 2827 Lakeview Ave., Pueblo, CO. Inurnment at Imperial Memorial Gardens, followed by a reception at Holy Family Hall.
