John Henry Lest Jr. 75, passed away on June 5, 2021 at 1833 hours in Pueblo, Colorado. He is the husband of Nancy. Together they shared 44 incredible years of marriage. John was born to John and Sophie Lest of Pueblo. He attended several Pueblo Schools, as he was the first 4-year graduating class of South High School. He attended Pueblo Jr. College where he excelled in drafting, before joining the United States Army. John worked as a land surveyor, at CF&I, in Montrose, CO. for the Bureau of Land Management fighting wild land fires. He also worked in construction doing remodeling and woodworking. John had many hobbies and talents that included model railroading, camping, hiking, and taking Tyler, Tanner, Sophie, and Shelby to the mountains, lakes, and parks. He enjoyed touring the rodeo circuit with is daughter Mary. John was most passionate with his woodworking. He remodeled for the Diocese of Pueblo to include the renovation of Sacred Heart Cathedral in 1988. He also worked on renovations that the Steelworks Museum in Pueblo. He worked with the Girl Scouts, especially with Troop #14. In his younger years, he was a Webelos Den Leader for the Boy Scouts. John will be remembered for his gentle character. He was kind and caring, helpful and loving. A great role model and he refused to give up. He was the best husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His smile and personality was infectious. He could always turn your frown upside down. John was full of knowledge, especially when it came to woodworking. He was a perfectionist.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Lest, daughter Mary (Matt) Winterrowd of Holyoke, CO., stepdaughter Ann Marie Webb of Colorado Springs, CO., stepson Mark (Heidi) Trivisonno of Golden, CO., stepson Michael (Cheryl) Trivisonno of Sugarland, TX., stepdaughter Jean (jack) Boerner of Pueblo, CO., stepson Joh Trivisonno of Pueblo West, CO. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tyler, tanner, Sophie, and Shelby Seeley, Brian, Tony, and Violet Web, Ross Trivisonno, Heather Shaw, Melissa Zech, Jonathan, Kaylin, and Gionni Trivisonno, and several great grandchildren; his sister Diane (Richard) Eurich, brother Richard (Betty) Lest, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. John will be sadly missed by all. His life will be celebrated with a private family memorial.
