Born in Rockford, Illinois, he was the son of James and Anita Stiles. He graduated from Boylan High School. He served in the United States Army following high school and was honorably discharged. He worked at Sutherland Lumber as a Contract Salesman, owned a business, and worked at Hewitt Robbins.
He belonged to St. James church in Rockford, Illinois and attended St. Paul Apostle Church in Pueblo West, Colorado. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, and being with friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Stiles; daughter Michelle (Josh) Deuto; grandchildren Christopher and Luke Deuto; sisters Mary Beth (Terry) Hileman, Jane (Tim) Simms, Margaret Yates, Lori (Larry) Cass, Julie (Kristopher) Downey; sister-in-law Beth Stiles; brothers John Stiles, Chuck (Mary) Stiles, Tom (Jody) Stiles. James came from a large family and was blessed with many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Anita Stiles; sisters Roberta Gille, Kathleen Carlson, Sally Stiles; brothers Louis Stiles; brothers-in-law Robert Gille, David Carlson, Stephen Yates; great niece Anita C Stiles.
Jim said he was, “the arm that shook the world”. People knew and would describe him as kind and always smiling. He was a great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. His strength and determination to keep things going was unmatched. His laughter and love will be missed, and he will always hold a place in our hearts. We would love friends and family to come and honor his life.
The funeral service will be held on October 19, 2023, at 1:30pm at St. Pius Catholic Church, 3130 Morris Ave, Pueblo Colorado 81008.
