Grace, of Pueblo, CO, gained her wings on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at 95 years old. Grace was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Donald and son Michael. Survived by her children Barbara (Raymond) Hensley, Kathy (Ron) Brooks, Corky (Patty) Harrison, Ed Harrison; Grandchildren Jim (Deidre) Hensley, Shari (Eddie) Martinez, Jodi (Mondo) Telles, Kimberly (Max) Foster, Kendra Brooks (Jarett Asplund), Adam (Vanessa) Harrison, Weston Harrison, Lacey (Chet) Murray, Makenzie (Chad) Helvey, and Alyssa (Tyler) Eve, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Grace was born in Fowler, Colorado as the 9th of 10 children. She is the final of her siblings to depart this life. She graduated from high school in Winslow, Arizona. Grace and Don married in 1945. She retired as an office manager for State Farm Insurance after 21 years. She also volunteered at the Pueblo Zoo in the Gift Shop, at the Colorado State Fairgrounds in the Cultural Arts and 4H buildings and for many events as part of her sorority including the hearing tests for local elementary schools. Grace was a dedicated member of the Alpha Omega chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha. She had many hobbies over the years including reading, traveling, camping, fishing, playing pinochle, zipper art, canning, and baking. She played the piano, harmonica and drums. Grace and Don were outstanding dancers making frequent visits to the Gayway in Beulah and the Elks on New Year’s Eve. If you visited Grace in her later years, she was either watching a Rockies game or Family Feud on TV. She jumped at every chance to entertain or be with her large and growing family. One of her biggest joys was getting a visit from grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren!
There will be a service to celebrate the life of Grace Harrison on Saturday, May 15th at The Red Barn (3320 Arena Rd. Pueblo, CO, 81005) at 3:00pm. There will be a reception to follow.
