Doris Faye Hills, 96, passed away June 26, 2022, at Pueblo, Colo. She was the widow of Vaughn Hills.They shared 46 years of marriage together. She was born in the old Doyle house on the Broadacre in Avondale, Colo., to Floyd and Frances Johnson. She attended Centennial School before applying to civil service, and was assigned the task of typing induction orders for soldiers entering World War II. Years later, she worked at Southern Colorado Power Co. as an executive secretary. Her interests were sewing and working outdoors in her yard. Survived by her children, Duane (Sharon) Hills, Rick (Linda) Hills; grandchildren, Nicole (Dion) London, Erica Hills, Darryl Hills; great-grandchildren, Taylor (Adrian) Ventura, Devin Allen, Derek (Faith) Allen, Summer Prose, Sydney Prose, Sophia Prose; and great-great-granddaughter, Aria Allen; extended family, Chris Allen and Chris Prose. Preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Dwight (Carol) Hills. Public viewing, 10 a.m., followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home, 329 Goodnight Ave., followed by a procession and graveside service at Imperial Gardens Cemetery on Hwy 78.
