I remember playing softball at central field,  our team name was the Treaders mostly black kids.  We took first place every year our 16 and under year  we didn't have the money for entry fees os we were not going to state in Canon City. Coach  Dan found out and paid it for us out of the kindness of his heart. He was always a good man and friend

To me Rosie is family. Growing up, he was childhood friends with my mom. She said kids on the block in Bessemer called him ‘Coal Bread’.  Later both Danny & Lollie remained in the friend group with my mom & dad. Eventually becoming grandparents to my beautiful niece. I will miss waving to him on the porch & his always smiling face. Mr Rosales,  I’m so sorry to say I will not be in Pueblo to celebrate your  life on the 28th.  As a young boy growing up on the east side of town you and a handful of others shaped the lives of many young athletes .    Thru basketball,baseball,and softball  your dedication to kids was 24-7.  Alway there,always mentoring no matter the season.    Rosie, as we called you later in life,   You not only coached us all in sports but you shaped  many young women and men into the people that we all are today. Dan and Family, so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. He impacted so many lives for the better. He always encouraged and supported all who played sports and represented the community. I remember Mr. Rosales best from Haaff Elementary School.  He was always so kind and funny!  When I was older and would come to Pueblo to spend time with my Mom and Dad we would sometimes run into him and his wife.  What a delightful couple and he always remembered who I was.  Thinking of you Danny Jr. and your family.  Loosing a parent is never easy.

Rosie !!! I remember him from Heaton Middle School. He was so cool and all the kids loved him ! We could always stop by his office and chat, and we all did. A legend.

Mr. Rosales was one of my all-time favorite people. He was an excellent coach, a great role model, and an all-around good person. He coached our freshman basketball team and we won the city championship. How excited we all were! That was in 1982. Some of my happiest days were spent practicing basketball with Coach Rosales at the helm. He was a keystone person in my life. He taught me more than basketball skills; he taught me and all of "his girls" good conduct on and off the court. East High School was a better place because of the contributions of Mr. Rosales. My deepest condolences to his family. May God's grace be with you during this sad time.

I always loved seeing him sitting on his porch and us going to sit w him and just talk. He had the most infectious smile. Dan was a good man that provided opportunities and support for many young people that grew up in Pueblo.  He always had positive and constructive advice for those around him. His smile will be missed!

To the Rosales Family:
What a great man!  Dan went to school with my parents, and they talked very highly of him.  It was later when I meet him through work at School Dist. #60, I found out what a great person he really was.  It was a pleasure to know him and to see how much he loved coaching and teaching kids how to play the game and the values that life has to offer.  May your family find comfort in this difficult time for their loss. and may you R.I.P. Dan.

Rosales family you are all in our thoughts and prayers.  We were very close to your father and mother at the church. He was a pall bearer for my parents (Selak) funerals. What a great man so caring . My daughter played softball with him as a coach so many wonderful memories. May he rest in peace.

Guess Dan’s up to playing  tricks again. I wrote a memory the other day and it was placed on someone else’s memory board. Dan and I were born the same year, one day apart. He never failed to remind me that I was older than him. We  attended Keating and graduated from Central, We had a group that met at the Eagles on Fridays for dancing and fun and we  all miss that. Dan will be missed by all who knew him. So sorry you had to loose him. God Bless you all.

I can’t thank this man enough for being there for my daughter Cori  during her softball days , He encouraged her to never give up even when life throws you a curve ball . I remember the day Coach Rosales called our house after being told my former softball team was going in a different direction. I was devastated because the team I played for was all I had ever known since I was a little girl. My dad handed me the phone and Papa was on the other line asking if I’d be interested in joining a new family. Not a team… a family. Those years were some of the best in my softball career and I will forever be grateful to him and Coach Garcia for taking me in.

My condolences to the family of Mr. Rosales.  Danny was a wonderful man.  He was my dads  (Roger Esquibel) best friends. There was many  a times that when my dad would be in the hospital and he would make it a point to go and sit in the hospital and visit him.  Your friendship with him was one of a kind. Mr. Rosales, hope you and my dad up there having a blast.

My Dear Debbie,  I am so sorry for your loss.  I remember always feeling like a family member when I saw your Mom and Dad out to dinner.   They were always so gracious when I greeted them.  They were a beautiful couple.  And he always remembered me whenever I saw him around town.  He will be sorely missed.  I love you Debbie and wish I could be with you at the services. Coach Rosales was like a father figure to me. We lost a wonderful man. I was a freshman in High School at East and Mr. Rosales was my basketball coach. My family could not afford to buy me a school annual. Coach Rosales asked why are you not out signing annuals? I told him I did not have a annual. He said oh no follow me and went and bought me an annual.  That's the kind of wonderful man he was. Rest in peace and prayers for your family.

With all my heart I am so so sorry. In life there r amazing people who leave beautiful footprints on your heart . As he and his wife have done in so many lives. Thank u my friends for the footprints on my heart. We will see each other again.

My heart aches for you all. No one can fill his shoes. Not only was he our 16-under fastpitch coach…he also coached both of my daughters in high school … thank you, Compa, for your guidance throughout my life, give my love to Lolly, Roger, to my Nino’s, and to all of our  Angels!!! You helped many a young woman realize their full potential in sports and in life. You helped me and my girls with our self-confidence …thanks for not killing me when I forgot the bunt sign and hit a home run only to be chewed out as I rounded third base…your bark was always louder/bigger than your bite. There are no words for your magnanimity as a dedicated Catholic Christian, person, son, brother, cousin, father, grandfather, uncle, husband, coach, Eagle member/concerned community member, Compadre/friend, and educator because you taught us all to be strong women on and off the field/court. You all raised a fine family-awesome and outstanding each in their own way. Many prayers, love, and bear hugs to Deb and her entire family. Thanks for the memories…Fly with the angels-our loved ones are waiting for you to praise God, watch football, golf, dance, laugh, play/coach softball/basketball…We will all miss you. Pueblo, say adios to an outstanding citizen, until we meet again-bask in God’s Perpetual Grace, Love, and Light. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Papa was a key influence to my softball career. He made me better every day.  We lost an amazing coach and individual. Condolences to his family during the holidays.

Danny was my first jr. softball coach at Central field  during the  summer  youth  league in the mid sixties. He was supportive, funny, great listener and so good at nurturing  and encouraging jr. softball players to be the best that they could be as athletes and people in general.  Dan had  a witty sense of humor and the best laugh and smile that was  contagious . He sure did brag on his wife,  kids and niece JoAnn with such pride in his voice . 
I’ve carried his friendship and kind words into adulthood. He will be missed but remembered by me and so many others. RIP🙏🏽
