Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Sarah (Catalano) DelVecchio. Theresa worked as an assembler for AAI Manufacturing for many years before her retirement.
Theresa was the devoted mother of James Bender Jr., Pauline (Jeff) Marshall, Michael Bender, David (Vadalia) Bender, Sharon (Eric) Sparfven and Theresa Bender. She was nana to 13 grandchildren and also great-nana to 14 great-grandchildren. She also was the cherished sister of the late Vera Cimino and leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nothing put a smile on her face more than giving one of her great-grandchildren a great big hug when they walked into her presence. Maybe yelling BINGO was a close second.
After her retirement she loved spending time with her family, taking bus trips to the casino and playing bingo at the Johnston Senior Center, where she was a regular right up until the time of her death. She was also a lifelong Elvis fan.
Her visitation will be held on Friday December 20, 2024 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will be private. In Lieu of flowers any donations can be made to www.Hopehealthco.org in Providence in her memory.
