Stephen R. Schofield, 59, of Coventry, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Nancy P. (Jakeman) Schofield.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late George A. and Mildred E. (Armington) Schofield, Jr.
Stephen was the Owner and President of Printcraft, in the Apponaug section of Warwick, for the past 30 years.
Stephen and Nancy enjoyed spending their free time on Block Island at Payne’s Dock aboard their beloved boat, Junkyard Dog. It was there that they were able to enjoy each others company and where they developed many long lasting friendships. Steve was the type of guy that was a jack of all trades, could fix anything, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He lit up a room when he entered, and always had the ability to make those around him laugh, while enjoying a Pinky, a Bud Heavy, or a Mudslide.
In addition to his wife Nancy, he leaves two sons, Nathan R. Schofield and David N. Berardinelli, two daughters, Amanda L. Schofield and Katie P. Anter and her husband Dan, two brothers, David R. Schofield and his wife Debbie, and George A. Schofield, III, and two grandchildren, Daniel D. Anter and Kinley E. “blabbertapper” Anter.
The funeral and visitation will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019 in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick, to which relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be from 9:00 to 12:00 noon, with the funeral service beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to Block Island Conservancy, PO BOX 84, 234 Weldons Way, Block Island, RI, 02807 in his memory would be appreciated.
