Simon Joseph Richardson of East Providence was born in Providence, RI on August 26, 1963. He died on July 7, 2020 (age 56). He was the son of the late Peter Damian Richardson of Providence, and Anne Mary Richardson of Providence. He is survived by his mother; sister Margaret Richardson, of Connecticut; sons, Damian Richardson of New Hampshire and Sidney Richardson of Providence; nephew Stanwood (Peter) Dolph of Seattle, WA; brother-in-law Scott Duncan of Connecticut; his partner, Allison W. Cone of Providence and her children Winifred and Dale Hurst of Providence, as well as many and various friends.
Simon attended Sarah Lawrence College (Bronxville, NY) where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in 1984. He later went on to earn a Master’s Degree from Rhode Island College in 2001. Simon had worked as a teacher in the Providence School System, primarily at Hope High School. He also worked at Whitmarsh Agency and later volunteered as an assistant to illustration professors at Rhode Island School of Design.
While at Sarah Lawrence College, he was introduced to an Indonesian martial art called Silat, which he practiced for as long as he could throughout the rest of his life.
