Ronald W. Burger

Ronald Walter Burger, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Sohigian) Burger, to whom he was happily married for 53 years.

Born in South Plainfield, NJ, he was the cherished son of the late Adam Burger and his wife, the late Agnes (Prucnal) Burger. Ron was also the treasured stepson to the late Mazie-Lee (Atkins) Burger. He was the dear brother of Stanley Burger and his late wife Dorothy and Barbara Hanes and her husband Jerry. Ron leaves behind his loving sister-in-law, Nancy Sohigian and her wife, Natalie Mello.

He was the loving father of Nanette Cote and her husband Christopher and Jennifer Cohn and her husband Matthew. Ron was the adored grandfather of Drake Cote, Ella Cohn, and Abby Cohn.

Ron was happiest when he was cooking, dancing or relaxing on the beach. Above all, he found the greatest joy in playing with his grandchildren and watching them grow. Well known as the baby and dog whisperer, he had a particularly strong bond with his beloved Shetland Sheepdog, Sandy. Ron had a charismatic personality and was loved by all who knew him. The radiant joy he brought to life will endure in the hearts of his family and friends.

His visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church, 280 Hawkins St, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
