Rocco A. Calise Sr.

Rocco A. Calise Sr., 88, passed away June 12, 2017. He was the son of the late Joseph and Santa (Mazzone) Calise; father of Elizabeth Holroyd, Rocco Calise Jr, Jeanne Calise, Robert Calise, Dana Russo, Vincent Calise and Lana Cheshier; grandfather of Brian Holroyd, Michael Calise, Kimberly Holroyd, Sean Johnston, Kayla Villegas, Carissa Calise, Amanda Calise-Kelly, Michael Russo, Shana Cheshier, Kyle Cheshier, Melissa Calise and Edward Roy; great-grandfather of Michael Calise, Alana Urizar, Max Holroyd, Mia Holroyd, Alexa Villegas, Adreanna Cheshier, Julian Villegas, Jaihlyn Cheshier, Marissa Gardner and Vanessa Gardner; brother of Gilbert Calise and the late Anthony, William, Calvin, Robert, Barbara, Marie, Rosalie and Minnie.

Rocco served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and had been a meat cutter for 71 years. He was a professional bowler who made it to the Hall of Fame at 70 years old. He was loved by all and will be remembered as “The Roc”.

Visitation and funeral Thursday 9-10:30 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
