Roberta Ashley

Roberta Ashley, 75, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, in Providence. She was the wife of the late Charles Ashley.Born in Newborn, GA, she was a daughter of the late Cohen Cooper and the late Florence Williams.She worked as a caretaker for many years. Roberta loved to go to church, shop and travel. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.She leaves her children, Garry Brooks, Timothy Brooks, and Chandra Ashley; a sister, Monnie Clark; thirteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. She was the mother of the late James Brooks, Michael Brooks, and Robin Ashley. Roberta was also the sister of the late Norris Cooper, Evelyne Hardemon, Banks Cooper, Lorene Cooper, and William Fred Cooper. She was a loving and caring person who will be missed by all who knew her.Roberta’s funeral with visitation will be on Monday, June 30, 2014, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, in the Holy Temple Church of God In Christ, 68 Althea Street, Providence.
