Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Frank and Mildred (Volpe) Iadevaia.
He proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Yellowstone.
Robert was the owner and operator of Frank's Fruit Store, a family owned business, starting with his grandfather as an open-air market. He came out of retirement and worked an additional 15 years for RIPTA.
He was a devoted member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church for over 70 years. He loved all sports, especially the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, doing yard work, and playing cards. More than anything else, he loved spending time with his family.
He was the loving father of Robbin Ann Mancini (Michael), Susan Joyce Iadevaia-Jalbert (Donald), and Roseann Campbell (Wayne); cherished papa of Nathan Jalbert (Alicia), Kendra Richards (Alan), and Marissa Deku (Israel); great-papa of Gabriel Deku and Preston Richards; and brother of the late William Iadevaia and Roseann Iadevaia.
His visitation will be held Saturday, April 29th from 9:00-11:00 a.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence followed by a service in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
