Pauline M. Della Ventura, 79, of Providence passed away on December 8, 2024 after bravely battling cancer for a year. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Agostino and Florinda (Calise) Della Ventura.
Pauline earned a BA from RIC and an MA from Middlebury College, Vermont. She was a Foreign Language teacher at Park View Middle School teaching French, Latin, and Italian and became a Department Head throughout her thirty-five-year tenure. She became the City Of Cranston Area Coordinator for Foreign Languages for the five secondary schools.
Pauline was an Opera and Broadway Show enthusiast attending many performances at various venues including the Met, The Boston Opera House, and also La Scala in Milan.
She was the loving sister of Josephine LaFrance and her late husband Gary, and Rosalie Chirico and her husband William.
She was also the cherished aunt of Gary LaFrance, Jr. (Hollie); Douglas LaFrance (Michelle); and Christopher; and great aunt of Logan, Caleb, Isaac, Ethan and Makayla.
Pauline was a spiritual and loyal person, kind and generous to family friends and strangers.
Her visitation and funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 9:30 AM in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Burial to follow at St Ann. Cemetery, Cranston.
