Mildred Theresa Richards

JOHNSTON - RICHARDS, Mildred T., 80, formerly of Simmonsville Avenue, died Thursday at Briarcliffe Manor. She was the wife of the late Joseph Napolitano and the late Francis Richards. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Robert and Julia (Lusignan) Goodwin, she had lived in Johnston for several years. Mrs. Richards had been a parking checker for the Providence Police Department for 30 years before retiring in 1988. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and was a member of the Fatima Guild, volunteering at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She leaves her daughter, Judith C. Petruccillo of Johnston; a brother Harold Goodwin of Providence; a sister Eileen Sajkowski of Johnston, and 4 grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Robin M. DiChairo and sister of the late Raymond and Robert Goodwin. Her funeral will be Tuesday at 8am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 179 Academy Ave., Providence. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation Monday 5-8.
