Leah, pious and religious her entire life continuing the legacy established by her family, was a loyal and faithful parishioner of Saint Raymond’s Church in Providence her entire life. Leah was predeceased in 2021 by her adoring husband Paul S. Mercer, and her beloved family, father Charles I. and mother Helen T. (Thornton) Miller, and her brother Charles L. Miller.
Leah spent many years in the healthcare industry as a nursing assistant and she and Paul enjoyed being volunteers during the Christmas season at the La Salette Shrine in Attleboro, Massachusetts.
A special thanks goes out to Father Edward L. Pieroni of Saint Raymond’s who held a special place in Leah’s heart. In addition, Kenneth and Cheryl Williams, long standing friends of Leah and Paul, also deserve special acknowledgement for standing by and caring for Leah after Paul’s passing, especially during her final days, weeks, and months. Better friends one could never have asked for.
A visitation will be held for Leah on Thursday, February 15th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Raymond’s Church, 1240 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
