Kathleen M. Weber, 94, passed away peacefully at Sunny View Nursing Home in Warwick on December 13, 2019. She was the wife of the late Louis H. Weber, they had been married 58 years.
Born in North Adams, MA she was the daughter of the late James E. and Mary L. (Huguenard) O’Connell.
Mrs. Weber worked as a bookkeeper for Prudential Insurance and the former Shepherd’s Department Store and was later employed as a teacher’s aide for the East Greenwich public school system, working with special needs students for over 20 years beforeretiring.
Kathleen and her late husband were avid sailors spending many summers on Narragansett Bay. She was a member of the East Greenwich Yacht Club and the Greenwich Bay Power Squadron Women’s Auxiliary. An avid reader, she was a frequent visitor to local libraries. She enjoyed puzzles and games of all kinds, regularly winning at Scrabble and Yahtzee and passing down to her family her love for lawn games like croquet and bocce.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen R. Mihalyak and her partner Gordon Watkins of McCormick, SC, Sharon C. Weaver and her husband Ted of Fort Myers, FL, Lynne M. Williams and her husband Michael of Austin, TX, Richard H. Weber of Warwick, Janice L. Olsen and her husband Chris of Warwick, her siblings, William E. O’ Connell and his wife Lilian of Harrisburg, PA, Mary Lou Dutra and her husband Paul of Foster, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late James J. O’ Connell and Claire F. DuPont.
Kathleen’s Funeral Service will be held Tuesday January 21 at 8:45 am from the Russell J Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am in Sts. Rose and Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Monday, January 20 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.
