Joseph J. Lombardo, 64, of Langdon Street, passed away March 13th at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Louise (Sylvester) Lombardo and had been the beloved husband of Muriel F. (Lord) Lombardo for 25 years.
Mr. Lombardo was a truck driver for Sodexo Food Service and had worked for the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 226 and had also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was the devoted father of Allison M. Lombardo; brother of Jo-Ann Zoglio, Elaine Sweetland, Ann Marie Smith, Kenneth, Stephen, and James Lombardo.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 5-8 p.m. with a funeral on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, 100 Chatham Street, Providence, followed by burial with Military Honors in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. www.pontarellimarinofunerals.com
