Born in Providence, Joseph was the son of the late Luke and Catherine (Windle) Grimes.
Joseph was a devoted husband and father. He served his country honorably in the Navy during WWII. He had a long career as an accountant for the Grinnell Company prior to his retirement.
Joseph is survived by his daughters, Marian C. and Patricia A. Grimes; his sons, J. Stephen Grimes (Joyce), and Kevin V. Grimes (Kelly); and his grandchildren, Matthew, Joseph, and Nora Grimes and David and Evan Miller.
Visitation Thursday, 5 – 7 pm in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 3rd St., East Greenwich. Burial to follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
