Warwick John G. Walsh, 75, of Warwick, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of the late Frances (DeLuca) Walsh and the late Janice (Cocozza) Walsh. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Vincent J. and F. Lillian (Stannard) Walsh. John was a member of the Laborers International Union of North America, Local 271 for over 40 years and served as an active member on the pension board. He served his country proudly in the Rhode Island National Guard for several years. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a long standing president of the Hope Rifle and Pistol Club,. John was a car enthusiast and had a passion for motorcycles. He enjoyed his winters in Florida after he retired and was known for his great sense of humor and charismatic personality. He will be forever known as a true prankster. John was a loving and caring man especially to his family and friends. He leaves a son, John M. Walsh and his wife Faith; a daughter, Lori A. Brown and her husband Jay; a loving granddaughter, Allison Brown; and twin brothers, Kenneth J. and Vincent E. Walsh. The funeral will be held Monday, at 8:45 am, from Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Catherine Church, 3252 Post Road, Warwick, RI. Burial, with military honors, will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Sunday, 4 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Rhode Island, 1210 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, RI 02920 in his memory will be appreciated.
