John Lawrence Capuano Jr., 69, of Smithfield and Narragansett, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, February 27, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Marie (DiNardi); they were happily married 47 years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of Gloria (Paolino) Capuano and the late John Capuano Sr.
John graduated from LaSalle Academy, ultimately attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and was a proud graduate of the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy.
Family and community were everything to John. He served the greater Providence community his entire professional career as the co-owner of LaSalle Pharmacy, Providence, and the founder of J.B. Pharmacy, Warwick. John was a talented pharmacist and entrepreneur. More recently, in retirement, he enjoyed spending time at the beach with his wife and family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Kristen (Capuano) Smith and husband Glenn, John Capuano III, Kayla (Capuano) Gulick and husband Robert, and the late Marisa Capuano; as well as his beautiful grandchildren, Nicholas Capuano and Sloane Gulick.
John is also survived by his brother Paul Capuano and sister-in-law Sharon (Quirk) Capuano, his sister-in-law Lucille (DiNardi) Bevilacqua and husband Victor Bevilacqua, and sister-in-law JoAnn (DiNardi) DeCaporale; as well as many nieces and nephews.
His visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
