Rehoboth, Massachusetts Joan L. Madden, 78, of Peck Street, Rehoboth, Massachusetts, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Leo Madden. They were married for fifty-two years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late James and Alice (Amos) Glanvill and stepdaughter of the late Margaret (Morley) Glanvill, she lived in Rehoboth for the past thirteen years, previously living in Pawtucket and Providence. Joan was a clerk in the Tax Collectors Office for the City of Pawtucket for twenty years, retiring in 2000. She was a communicant of Saint Mary Church, Pawtucket, a founding member, and secretary, of the Ireland "32" Society, and a member of the Irish Ceilidhe Club of Rhode Island. She was an avid reader. Besides her husband Leo, she leaves a son, Brian F. Madden and his wife Cathy; three daughters, Kellie A. Duphily and her husband Tom, Noreen M. Strayer and her husband Brian, and Brenda P. Tartaglia and her husband David; a sister, Carol Ann Sanderson; and nine loving grandchildren, Alan, Raeanne, Kyle, Connor, Emily, Nathan, Benjamin, Rebecca, and Haley. She was a sister of the late James Glanvill. The funeral will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013,at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, in Saint Mary Church, 103 Pine Street, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Friday, 4 - 7 pm.
