He was the beloved husband of Diann M. (Rogers) Wilson. Born in White Plains, New York, he was the son of James W. Wilson and he late Lillie-Mae (Davis) Wilson.
James was the beloved father of Xavier Wilson, Destiney Lovett-Wilson and Oscar Rentas-Wilson; cherished grandfather of Ezekiel Wilson; devoted brother of Anthony “Tony” Davis and Dareke Batson; stepson of Alfreda Wilson; stepbrother of Curshina Calhoun, Kanjuette Calhoun and Aisha Calhoun. He also leaves his best friends, Mark Mabin and George Hall and a host of family and friends that he loved dearly.
James will be remembered for his kindness, his smile and his sense of humor. He enjoyed many side jokes with those closest to him. He was a graduate of White Plains High School in New York where he played football and went on to earn his associate’s degree in business.
He was a board member and baseball coach for Elmhurst Youth Baseball for the past 15 years. He also served as the vice president and board member of CBAA/NEO. James also was a bowling coach for the Providence Senate Bowling League, and a coach for the Mt. Hope Cowboys.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, August 24th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence with his funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
