James Henry Bicknell, aged 67, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, Jim was the cherished son of the late Albert Bicknell, Jr., and Lucy (Sherman) Bicknell.
Throughout his life, he was a dedicated mechanic, passionately embracing his work until his retirement.
Jim lived life to the fullest, embracing his passions with enthusiasm. He was an avid bowler, enjoying the thrill of competition and the camaraderie at the lanes. His love for card games was infectious, bringing laughter and joy to countless gatherings. Fishing offered him a peaceful retreat, a hobby he cherished and shared with those closest to him.
Above all, Jim valued the time spent with his family and friends. He was a beloved brother to Robert Bicknell, Marjorie Smith, Jane Chase, Lauren Bicknell, Donna Santos, Shannon Massaroco, and the late Deborah “Debbie” Campbell and Jean “Betty” Bicknell. He was an amazing uncle, loved by his many nieces and nephews, whose lives were enriched by his warm and generous spirit.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM at PONTARELLI-MARINO FUNERAL HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, with a service to follow at 10:45 AM. This service will honor Jim's life, celebrating the joy he shared, his enduring passions, and his legacy of kindness and generosity. In keeping with his wishes, the burial will be private. Jim's profound spirit of love and friendship will be deeply missed yet forever cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
