Born in the Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Francisco A. and Mireya E. (Rodriguez) Gomez.
Ignacio owner and operated a supermarket in Providence for many years before retiring.
He was the father Ignacio R. Gomez, Aldrin J. Lucas Perez, Jennifer Gomez Lamarche, Jossie Gomez and Jason Gomez; grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 3. He was also the brother of Rafael H. Gomez, Margarita Gomez, Fe Gomez, Francisco J. Gomez, Luis J. Gomez, Yvonne A. Grullon and the late Ana J. Fontalvo, Francisco A. Gomez, Manuel D. Gomez and Omar E. Gomez.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a service in the funeral home at 7:00 PM.
