WarwickGerard D. "Jerry" Caruso, 74, passed away peacefully at Kent County Hospital on July 2nd. He was the cherished husband of Mae Caruso for forty-eight years. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was a son of the late Francis and Esther (Varipapa) Caruso. Mr. Caruso worked for American Bosch Arma, on Long Island, and A & L Manufacturing Company, in Brooklyn, before moving to Rhode Island in 1970, when he went to work for Crisloid Plastics Company. In 1983, he purchased the company, renamed it Crisloid, Inc., and served as President until his recent retirement. He served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. Jerry was a communicant of Saint Gregory the Great Church for forty years, and served the parish as a Eucharistic Minister, Marriage Preparation Advisor, and Festival Organizer. An avid golfer, he was a member of Potowomut Golf Club. Beside his wife, he leaves three adult children, Michael Caruso, Christine Sirois, and her husband John, and Joanne Caruso; five loving grandchildren, Mike, Zach, Jessica, Matthew and Aidan; and four siblings, Maria Carrano, and her husband Pat, Eleanor Caruso, Edward Caruso, and his wife Marge, John Caruso, and his wife Sandra, and a sister-in-law, Grace Caruso. His deceased brothers, Frank and Gene, welcome him into his eternal reward. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Friday, 5 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Massachusetts General Hospital, Cardiac Unit, 55 Fruit Street, Yawkey Center, Boston, MA 02114 in his memory will be appreciated.
