Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Jennie (Scialdone) Meo. Frank was the beloved husband of Frances D. (Albanese) Meo for 68 years. Besides his wife he is survived by his three daughters, Ginine C. Hefner, Lorna J. McCoy and her husband Joseph and Melissa A. Meo-Lorraine and her husband Michael. He was the cherished grandfather of Paul Hefner, Jr. and his wife Gina, Kaitlyn Brokaw and her husband Scott, Jaclyn McCoy, Nicole Bradford and her husband (Stephen) and Alexander Moore and great-grandfather of Oliver Finn Hefner, Luke, Maddelena and Maeve Brokaw and Olivia Bradford. He was the bother of the late Joseph, Salvatore, John and Anthony Meo and Rose Gagliardi.
Frank served in the US Air Force, 5th Bomber Squadron, and was on active duty during the Korean War, stationed in South Korea. After returning from the war, he received his business degree from Johnson & Wales and taught at Davies Vocational School for several years. He was a lifelong parishioner and a Eucharistic Minister for many years at Mary Mother of Mankind Church. He held the Office of Commander for the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 3 and was dedicated to offering assistance to all veterans in the association. Frank was a role model to all, exhibiting dedication to family, eternal faith, and pride for his country. He was passionate about art (sketching and oil painting), building and flying radio control airplanes, and was an expert in WWII History and Warcraft. He was the loving patriarch of the Meo family and was a father figure to all of his nieces and nephews. He adored his wife and daughter’s closeness. Frank’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren are the precious jewels of his heart. He will be loved and missed by many.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 3rd from 5:00-7:00 pm. The funeral for Mr. Meo will be Thursday at 9:00 am. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO FUNERAL HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence at 10:00 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
