He was a devoted and loving father to Johanna Rothman and Ellen Greene. Known as Grampy to his four grandchildren, Benjamin Greene, Erica Greene, Shaina Tuleja and Naomi Druy, he was thrilled to see them grow and share in their accomplishments. He laughed with and took great pride in his three great-grandchildren.
An unusual man of his times, he chose to balance his home and work life. As an executive in the clothing manufacturing business, he coached many people in their quest to get good jobs and succeed. We would now say he paid it forward.
An avid duplicate bridge player, he taught other people to enjoy and play a good game. (He often said Ilse was his best partner.) He read and learned throughout his lifetime, never using the excuse that he was “too old.”
There will be a brief memorial service on Monday, Oct. 25 at Ahavath Torah Congregation in Stoughton at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the charity of your choice, or to the Scholarship Fund at Orchard Cove, 1 Del Pond Drive, Canton, MA 02021.
