She was the beloved wife of the late Chester F. McCormick. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Lamoureux) Bergeron.
Clarice was the loving mother of Eileen Phaneuf (Victor), Philip McCormick (Rita), Christopher McCormick (Kristen), Mary Anne Dinerman (Paul), Kevin McCormick (Fang), and the late Jane Sutcliffe. She was the mother-in-law of John “Skip” Sutcliffe. She cherished her grandchildren and took great joy in being able to provide childcare for some, enabling their parents to work, knowing the children were in loving hands. Her grandchildren include John, Michael, Meghan, Garrett, Erin, Luke, Noah, and Elise. She also had nine great-grandchildren. She was the 9th of 10 children, leaving her one remaining sister, Germaine Genest. Clarice also leaves many nieces and nephews.
After raising her family, she returned to work outside the home, most notably at A.T. Cross. She also enjoyed volunteering at St Thomas Food Pantry.
Visitation and funeral will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 from 8:00-9:00 a.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Tolland Public Library, with Jane Sutcliffe Memorial Fund on memo line.
