Beverly Smith (Reynolds) of Hilltop Drive, Cranston, Rhode Island, died peacefully on May 4, 2014 of natural causes. She was 91 years old.Beverly is preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. (Gus) Smith, her parents, Thomas and Alice (Smith) Reynolds, and her sister, Anne Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyne Spataro, of Pembroke Pines, Florid, her grandson, Joseph A. Spataro, his wife Alexis, and their two children, Talia and Christian, all of Tampa, Florida.Mrs. Smith is an alumna of St. Mary's Academy of the Visitation in Providence and Bryant University. She retired as Assistant Manager of the United Jewelry Show after 25 years of employment, and was a member of Bridgeworks, in Warwick. Even though she avoided its publicity, Mrs. Smith is best known and loved by many long-time Rhode Islanders as the co-owner of Gus Smith's Tavern in Providence until her husband's death in 1985.Her funeral with visitation will begin at 9:00 am, on Thursday, May 8, 2014 in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt. 117) Warwick, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am, in the funeral home. Committal prayers and Interment alongside her husband will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
