Andrea Carol (Bruno) Adamo, 80, of Providence passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on Sunday, April 13, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Ernest W. Adamo, Jr., devoted mother of Nicole DiFilippo and her husband Peter; cherished grandmother of Jenna Livingston, Julia and Gabriella DiFilippo and great grandmother of Marky and Layla Livingston. She was also the sister of Maria Ayotte and stepmother to Ernest J. Adamo. In addition, Andrea leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Pia (Barricelli) Bruno.
No one who met Andrea, forgot her spirited personality. Andrea was full of life, enthusiasm and compassion. She stood out in a crowd where she would narrate countless detailed stories which entertained everyone around her.
Andrea took great pleasure in her cooking, especially recipes passed down from family. Andrea was also an avid reader. She loved to use her imagination when getting lost in a book.
For 30 years, Andrea worked at Providence College in the Office of Institutional Advancement before retiring in 2019. During her time at Providence College, Andrea supported numerous events from Homecoming to Reunion Weekends. She was an advisor to the Friar Dance Team along with being, as she described, the biggest Friar Men's Hockey fan around. She was often spotted hanging around Schneider Arena with her pom poms cheering and motivating the team.
Andrea's legacy will live on through the memories we shared, the values she instilled in us, and the love she gave. We take solace in knowing she is at peace, reunited with loved ones that have gone before her.
Andrea ~ you will be profoundly missed, but the heavenly distance between us does not change the power of our love for you.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM in the Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence followed by a service in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
