Beatrice Alberta Smith

Beatrice spent her childhood in northwest Arkansas before moving to Ft. Smith with her mother and step-father. She was a proud graduate of Ft. Smith Northside High School, class of 1948.

Beatrice worked for Charles Fite of Ft. Smith until moving to Gresham, Oregon in 1968. She worked for the City of Gresham until moving to Prineville in 1979. She was employed by the City of Prineville, retiring in 1998 as associate finance director.

Beatrice was a member of the Soroptimist International of Prineville. Being a Soroptimist was a great joy for her. She held various offices while an active member.

Beatrice had a deep and abiding love for animals. She was known for adopting many of the dogs she owned. She was also an avid gardener. She loved flowers of all types.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father, Fred Loftin. She is survived by her cousin, Pamela Redfern of West Fork, AR. She also leaves family and friends.

According to her wishes no services will be held. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville, AR at a later date.
