Herb was employed for 35 years at Canadian Linen (Teamsters Local 213) in Vancouver and raised his family in Surrey, BC. After retirement, Herb and Ruth moved to Logan Lake, then Bear Lake, and finally settled in Prince George where they resided for fourteen years. Herb was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In his younger years he coached and umpired for Whalley Little League Baseball and was a devoted Blue Jays fan.
Herb was predeceased by his wife Ruth Vina (nee Theobald), son Bruce, daughter-in-law Laura, grandson Justin, brothers William, Menno, Herman, Benjamin, sisters Louise, Olga, Ann and his parents Daniel and Helena (nee Martens).
He is survived by his children Rick (Jelka), Barb, Garry, Brian (Wendy), daughter-in-law Victoria, brother Walter, and sisters Tina and Ruby. Herb will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Tyson, Ryan, Travis, Kristopher, Jordan, great-grandchildren Kiedis, Thea, Aurora, Tahlia, Caleb and Harper.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
