William Paul McNeese, Sr. went to heaven on October 30th at home. Rev. McNeese was a long time resident of Autaugaville, AL and attended Voice of Victory Church at Canaan Land Ministries. He graduated from Elkton High School, Elkton, TN; Howard College (Samford University); Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY; and the University of Alabama. He retired from pastoring at Calvary Baptist Church in Guam. He was also a retired educator with the Autauga County Board of Education. Paul enjoyed traveling, singing, cooking, watching Alabama football and Braves baseball. His memorable Donald Duck imitation was enjoyed by all of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Nelson, and by his children, William Paul McNeese, Jr. (Fredna) & Lane Sievers (Steve) of Montgomery and Frank McNeese (Pam), Auburn, GA. In addition, he is survived by grandchildren, Julia Post (Rob) of Hurst, Reading, UK; Natasha Gravitt (Dusty), Jefferson, GA; Chase Sievers (Lauren) and William Paul McNeese, III (Laura) of Montgomery; Matthew McNeese, Auburn, GA and Christina Gonzalez (Mario) of Rifle, CO. He was blessed with nine great-grandchildren and a tenth due in 2019. Rev. McNeese is also survived by his sister, Katherine Pool (Mike), of Huntsville, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Edna Broadway McNeese, of Elkton, TN and grandson, Andrew Joseph McNeese.
A visitation for Rev. McNeese will be Friday morning at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel at 10 AM followed by a funeral service at 11 AM conducted by his son, Pastor Bill McNeese of Harvest Family Church, Montgomery. Burial will follow at Rocky Hill Cemetery in Autaugaville. Pallbearers will be Paul McNeese, III, Chase Sievers, Dusty Gravitt, Caleb Gober, Joshua Gober and Chris Crider. Memorial gifts may be made to Voice of Victory Church in Autaugaville.
