Phillip started working as a carpenter/contractor at a young age. He enjoyed working with wood, and left his family with many of his hand made masterpieces. He was very meticulous about his work and paid special attention to detail. He found pleasure in hunting and fishing until his body was in too much pain to enjoy these activities. His family was always the joy of his life, and he never missed an opportunity to show it with a big hug and “I love you.” He had a special sparkle in his eyes when he was with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Animals always had a special place in his heart as well. Phillip loved watching Alabama football and listening to country music (especially Reba).
Phillip was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Nada Reep Liles; his mother Mary Elizabeth Liles Chavers; grandfather Ira Liles; and his grandmother “mama” Annie Russ Liles. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter; Amy Liles Burbage (Bo) and his son Dale Liles (Aimee); his grandchildren, Bethanne Deramus (Cody), Morgan Burbage-known to pawpaw as “Half-pint” (Andrea), Shelbie Burbage, Judson Liles (Payton); great grandchildren, Beckham and Brodie Liles, and Lane Deramus; sisters, Leslie Godwin (John) and Stacy Harris (Michael); brother in law and devoted caregiver Yancey Mullins; sister in law Janet (Lamar) Moore; brothers in law, Jimmy (Judy) Reep, and Randy Reep. He is also survived by his fur companions Apache and Oscar.
Phillip and Nada were always known to care for others. They raised two nephews as their own, Nathaniel Senn (Jessica-Josiah and Gabe) and Patrick Senn (Jennifer-Braxton), as well as niece Rae Turney (Paul-Austin Senn, Jessie and Savanna Lockart).
A celebration of life is scheduled at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM, with Pastors Mike Mozingo and Gary Burton officiating. The family will receive family and friends at 12:30-2:00PM. Interment will be at Oakhill Cemetery.
