Greg was born in Causey, New Mexico, where he spent the years of his early childhood. Next, he made the move to Thornton, Colorado in 1976 where he met the love of his life, Janine Dicus.
Greg first saw Janine while attending an Eagles concert at a “Colorado Sundays” event. Janine was shown on the big screen in her hot pink swimsuit being tossed into the air by her friends. It wasn’t until a month later through mutual friends that Janine and Greg would meet again. In conversation they realized that they in fact attended the same Eagles concert and that Greg remembered seeing her on the big screen. This was the start of their friendship which turned into the great love that they have for each other.
During this time Greg was working part time on the weekends doing roofing jobs while he attended Westie High School. He then went to live in all areas of Texas. Lastly, in 1983 he finally settled in Alabama where he started working at Quality Roofing and Construction. 13 years later he bought the company, where he made many strong business associates who became great friends to him.
His faith and his family were everything to Greg. He loved his wife, Janine. They spent their early years together attending concerts, going to the beach, barbecuing and having friends over. In their more recent years together, they enjoyed getting breakfast together, going grocery shopping, and simply enjoying each others company. He was blessed with two wonderful children, Candace and Chance, as well as his golden grandchild, Mila. He loved Alabama Football and never missed a game. His favorite games were the ones he watched with his equally Bama loving son, Chance. He cherished his near daily phone calls with “Wigglebritches” aka his daughter Candace. Although he loved his two kids, his favorite child was his grandchild, Mila. He loved attending her dance recitals, taking her swimming, letting her win all of their games, and chasing her around the couch while they watched their movie, The Wizard of Oz.
In honor of Greg, Roll Tide.
