CABLE, Clyde Douglas “Doug”, 62 of Marbury, passed away at home on Sunday February 3, 2013. Funeral services were held Wednesday February 6th at 11:00 AM at the Boones Chapel Baptist Church with Rickey Derrico the Reverend Mike Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Alexander City Municipal Cemetery. Mr. Cable was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Francis Cable. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Cable of Marbury; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Brian and Joan Ray of Harvest, Alabama, Ty and Paige Ray of Marbury; one daughter and a son-in-law, Ginger and Pete Nelson of Marbury; mother, Ola Cable of Maryville, Tn.; one brother and a sister-in-law, Daryl and Janet Cable of Maryville, Tn.; nine grandchildren, Tyler Ray, Chase Merck, Dallas Merck, Meagan Ray, Will Ray, Payton Nelson, Amanda Ray, Erin Nelson and Marley Nelson. Mr. Cable was a dedicated veteran to the Armed Forces of the United States having served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. He served tours of duty in Vietnam with both branches of service. He also had a long and distinguished career as a public servant which includes service with the Prattville Fire Department, Prattville Police Department and the Autauga County Sherriff’s Department. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Boones Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund, 2301 Co. Rd. 66, Prattville, Al. 36067. Visitation was held held Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel.
