Betty Ann (Scott) Tankersley passed away peacefully Monday, April 2, 2018 at Prattville Baptist Hospital at the age of 76. Betty was born August 24, 1941. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lovenia Ray Scott and father, Isaac Moody Scott; sister, Joyce Marie Smitherman; brother-in-law, Enoch Lawley; nephews, Kenneth Lamar Lawley, Melvin Eugene Ingram and a great nephew, Jeffrey Carlee. She is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Tankersley; sisters, Carolyn Fay Lawley, Jackie Sue (Robert) Ingram, Lydia Ruth "Susie" Thomas and Deborah Darlene (Ricky) McGee; brothers, James Claudy (Linda) Scott and Roger Dale (Lynn) Scott; brother-in-law, Floyd Smitherman. She is also survived by many step-children, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, April 5, 2018 beginning at 1:00 pm at Rehobeth Baptist Church, 11262 Deer Creek Road, Lawley, AL (Bibb County) followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary with Rev. Bob Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Earl Thomas Jr., Harold Lawley, Brent Pinkston, Chris Popwell, Dustin Popwell and Devin Hutchinson. Services are under the direction of Ridout’s Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Betty’s life.
