Mr. Jeffrey “Jeep” James age 56 of Parishville, NY passed away after a long battle with cancer on April 13th at his residence in the town of Parishville with friends and family by his side, including Lynne Jackman who was there to help comfort him in his final hours.
Funeral services for Jeff will be at the Amvets in Parishville on Saturday, April 20th at 11am with celebrant Reverend Kenneth Hammel. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetary, also in Parishville. Friends and family may call at Garner Funeral Services on Friday, April 19th from 2pm – 7pm. Contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
Jeff is survived by
• his wife of 21 years, Jane James,
• his sons, Matthew and Ryan James,
• his daughters, Jesse James, (her partner, Trevor Brashich), Krista Taylor, (and her partner, Nick Wolf),
• his father, Donald R. James, (and his partner, Rose),
• his brothers, Richard James, (with his partner, Lisa Emburey), Ronald James, (with his wife, Brenda James), and Roger James
• his sisters, Linda Garrison, (her partner Ron Oharah), and Susan James, and (her partner, Nester Valle)
• his grandchildren, Hunter James and Sophie Rae,
• and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He is predeceased by his mother, Patricia James.
Jeff was born on July 11, 1962 in Potsdam, NY to Donald R. James and Patricia A. Green. He was a graduate of Potsdam High School, Class of 1981. He graduated Mohawk Community College with a degree in Art in 1984. After graduating, he lived in Dobbs Ferry where he learned screen printing and also paved stone. On February 14, 1998, he married Jane M. Hayes. He was the current owner of Special Tee Printing in Potsdam. Early in his career, he helped lay the bricks in Lake Placid where the Olympic Torch was lit.
Jeff was an active guy who greatly loved his Jeep. He enjoyed playing hockey, and was a member of several different community teams including Ton’s Sunday Night Hockey, Norfolk Hockey League (NHL) Part Timers, and Thursday Night Hockey. Jeff was also a referee of high school and college soccer, high school hockey, and high school lacrosse.
Jeff did not enjoy dressing up so his wish was that people wear hockey jerseys to his funeral. Please join his family in this great tribute to him.
Immediately following burial service on Saturday, April 20th, there will be a Celebration of Life at the Parishville Amvets.
