He attended Gresham High School, Pacific University, and Oregon State University, where he was on the wrestling team and rugby team. Bill was a lifelong OSU Beaver fan.
He was a member of IBEW Local 48 and was a respected electrician working on countless commercial projects during his career.
Bill met his wife Jan in 1992, and they were married on September 3, 1993, in Lake Tahoe, CA. Daughter Abigail was born in 1995.
William built three homes during his lifetime. One on the family farm, one with his wife Jan on NW Skyline where they raised their daughter, and his last was a beachfront home in Ocean Park, WA., where he and his wife retired. There he spent time clamming, crabbing and fishing, and enjoying the beach view. William loved to be out on the water on his boat.
William was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in April and passed away at home on May 28th with his wife and daughter by his side.
William is survived by his wife Jan and daughter Abigail. He is also survived by his sister Ardis, (Larry), of Sea-Tac, WA., Brother Robert, (Debra), of Wasilla, AK., several nieces and nephews and many cousins.
His parents Art and Florence, his brother Art Jr., and sister in law Gail preceded him in death.
His wife wishes to thank the caring doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Vincent Hospital for the excellent care they provided to William, and for making it possible to bring him home before he passed.
Thank you also to Kim Eggers with Harbor Hospice and to his caregiver Marnie Zatterberg for her care and support.
