Married to Lynette May 27, 1967 where they resided in St John's, OR.
Roger worked at Layton ICreations with his Mother Nadine and was also in the National Guard. Roger became a Firefighter with Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue in 1974. In 1978, Roger moved the family to Hillsboro, OR where Lynette resides and survives him today.
Construction/Excavating was where you could truly find Roger in his element. As a firefighter/paramedic, Roger on his off days worked for Leahy Construction & Excavating; a job he fell into while assigned to Sommerset Station that same year and became a member of Operating Engineers 701.
Roger loved taking his family on trips camping & domestic to Prineville Reservoir, LaPine, Deschutes, McKenzie River in his drift boat, Forest Park, Disneyland, the beach and Shasta Lake.
Roger at any given moment gave himself to those who needed him. Never did he expect nor accept accolades in return. He always encouraged those who allowed him to as often as he could.
Roger was always sweetened with a stash of M&M's, Butterfingers, Jelly Bellies or Oreo's at every trip anyone accompanied him on.
Roger was a devoted Husband, Father & Grandpa who was ALWAYS there! If Grandpa was not in his F-350 Ford he was found cruising the Oregon scenery on his Harley!
In response mode, Roger was invincible, encouraging, wise and never faltered to putting his learned/practiced/mentoring knowledge to work in saving the lives of others no matter what he did from sunrise to sunset!
Roger Retired from TVF&R in 1999 and established RJ White Construction/Excavating in Hillsboro, OR.
After being in business for himself for awhile, Roger finally accepted retirement and took yearly trips with Lynette to Cabo & cruises to Alaska.
He Loved his Kids! He Loved his Wife! Roger Loved Life period & he had a very fulfilling one!
