Robert Lindon Boroughs

Robert (Bob) Boroughs passed on Monday August 7th 2023. Bob was born on 05/30/1941 in Eugene, Oregon to Burton and Margaret Boroughs. Bob was raised in Mill City, Oregon. In high school he excelled in football and in his senior year he played in the Shriner’s All-Star football game. Bob attended the Oregon College of Education for a year and a half, then decided to go to work in the lumber industry. He eventually worked for the State of Oregon. Bob worked for the Oregon Liquor Commission until he retired in 2003. Bob met the love of his life, Verl Chapman, and they were married in 1979. Bob and Verl were avid hikers and cross country skiers. Their most treasured travels were always to the mountains across the country. Bob and Verl were loyal Oregon State University fans. They were season ticket holders for football, basketball and baseball games. Verl preceded Bob in death in 2016. Bob has 3 surviving sisters, Bonnie Mark, Kathy Perkins and Judy Hansen. He had many nieces and nephews who enjoyed Uncle Bob. Bob was an avid reader and kept up on current events and sports right up until his illness took him. Bob will be missed. Funeral arrangements through Finley Sunset Mortuary and Cemetery.

A graveside service for Robert will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Sunset Hills Memorial Park Or, 6801 SW SUNSET HWY, PORTLAND, OR 97225. Following the graveside service will be a reception from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Finley Sunset Hills Mortuary, 6801 SW SUNSET HWY, PORTLAND, OR 97225.
