Dick grew up in the Laurelhurst neighborhood and attended Grant High School. He continued his education at Lewis & Clark College and the University of Oregon before earning his law degree from Northwestern College of Law in 1956. Dick dedicated many years to his legal career as an Attorney, retiring at the age of 78.
On March 23, 1958, Dick married the love of his life, Edna, they met at Westminster Presbyterian Church. They shared 55 wonderful years together before Edna's passing in 2013. Dick was a devoted family man and is survived by his daughters Sarah Fawver (Steve) and Carolyn Paul (Stan), as well as his grandchildren Kristin Fawver, Greg Fawver, and Jackson Eskierka.
During his college years, he was an active member in the Young Republicans. Throughout his life, Dick was very involved in the Presbyterian Church, holding various roles within the congregation. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Pittock Mansion and the Portland Rescue Mission in his later years, always eager to give back to his community.
Dick's hobbies included being an avid reader, stamp collector, and history buff. He found joy in puttering in his yard and garden, showcasing his green thumb. Those who knew him best will remember his keen sense of humor, big smile, and sparkly eyes.
Graveside Service will be held on Friday May 10th, 2024 arrive by 2:45pm at Lincoln Memorial Park 11801 SE Mt Scott Blvd, Portland, OR 97086.
