Born to Landon Daniel and Linda (Lowdermilk) Green on Tuesday, March 17, 1964 in Newport, Oregon, Mike was a family man to his core. He always found time to help his family in their hobbies, work, and personal lives. Nothing brought him more joy than to provide for his children and see them succeed and be happy.
Mike was a devoted Beaver fan, having graduated from Oregon State University in 1986. He held season tickets for Beaver football ever since and never missed a home game, except to catch his own children's events. For over 30 years he made parking spot 599 synonymous with fun and fellowship. He was the life of every party and took immense pride in holding the biggest tailgaters, giving the best Thanksgiving toasts, and welcoming new friends to his home.
Mike lived an active lifestyle and was always in search of the sun. He enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Cabo, Las Vegas, and Black Butte Ranch, among many other places. Ever the athlete, he played football and baseball in his early years, was a lifelong scratch golfer, and never missed a morning run. He maintained a collection of Beavers, Mariners, Seahawks, and other sports memorabilia. His office was proudly adorned with the golf ball from his hole in one on the third hole at the Torrey Pines North Course in 2001.
An excellent salesman and respected people leader, Mike spent his career in the telecommunications industry, having been a Chief Revenue Officer or Vice President of Sales at several companies. He was perpetually optimistic and always believed that anything worth doing was worth doing to the absolute best of his abilities. He enjoyed small acts of kindness and offered compliments to strangers on a daily basis, believing that putting a smile on someone's face was the greatest gift to give.
Mike is survived by his sons, Kyle and Jake; fiance, Susan Layne; Susan's daughters, Parker and Palin; sister, Julie (Daniel) Walter and her husband Mick Irwin; nieces, Jessica Walter and Emily Walter; parents, Landon and Linda; and step parent Elmer Green who all miss him dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.skylinememorialgardens.com for the Daniel family.
