Malik Isaac Belcha, 23, of Portland, Oregon, passed away on November 17, 2023, in his hometown. Born on December 13, 1999, Malik was a kindhearted individual who always had a smile on his face and a willingness to help others. He was known for his selflessness and his ability to bring joy to those around him.
Malik was a beloved son of Michael J. Belcha Sr. and Jeannie C. Wiggins. He is also survived by his sisters, Zeaniqua Watkins & Tamira Wiggins; and brothers Michael J. Belcha Jr., Kevin Flewellen-Wiggins, Ramel Ezekiel Belcha, and Mekhi Isaiah Belcha. Malik's family meant the world to him, and he cherished the time spent with them.
Educationally, Malik excelled and graduated with honors from Heritage High School. He was not only a bright student but also a prominent figure in his school community, being a part of the Prom Court. Malik's academic achievements and skills on the baseball field garnered him numerous scholarship offers.
In his career, Malik found his passion as a chef. He was employed at Main Event Sport and 3 Sheets at The Harbor, where he showcased his culinary talents and delighted patrons with his delicious creations.
Outside of work, Malik had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He loved playing pool with his friends and found solace in skateboarding. Malik had a compassionate spirit and would often visit homeless camps to engage with those experiencing homelessness. He would distribute white roses, offering comfort and companionship to those in need.
Malik's untimely passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. His kindness, generosity, and infectious smile will be deeply missed. May his memory live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by: grandmother, Claudette Watkins; great grandparents, James Ezekial (Zeke) & Roberta Belcha; great uncle and aunt, Lucius J. & Katie Idella Haynes; grandmother, Celestine Idella Belcha; grand aunt, Elsie Rall; and aunt, Stephanie Watkins.
He is also survived by: grandfather, Ralph Watkins; uncles and aunts, Stanley Watkins & Judy Montgomery, Brian & Claudette Johnson; Michael & Nichelle Bussey; Jason & Tarshene Pinney; and Roman & Angela Belcha; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
