Linda was born in Portland, to Gordon B. and Shirley J. (Taber) Crosley and spent her early years growing up in the Beaverton area. She attended Barnes Elementary School, West Sylvan School, and graduated from Sunset High School in the class of 1966.
She then attended Phagan's School of Hair Design, passed her State Board exam to earn her cosmetology license, and worked briefly for the Gloria LaVonne Salon and the Bashful Daisy Beauty Shoppe before deciding that the profession wasn't a good fit for her. She went on to work for the Oregon Insurance Rating Bureau (later the Insurance Services Office) computing commercial fire insurance rates for insurance companies. She remained in that job for six years.
Linda married in 1971 and quit working outside the home in 1974 to raise her children. She was divorced when they were young and so enrolled in college, graduating Phi Theta Kappa in 1986 with a degree in Health Information Management, and passed the national exam to become a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). She then worked for Providence Health and Services in that capacity for 29 years until retiring in 2015.
While challenged with working and raising her children alone, Linda found time to enjoy reading, writing, gardening, and baking, and her interests included politics, architecture, genealogy, American history, geography, and current events.
Stage IV cancer, diagnosed in 2013, finally took her from those who cared for her, though she never lost her sense of humor, often saying that "there is humor in every situation."
Linda is survived by her daughter, Heather A. Bee (Nathan A. Nagy) of Astoria; her son, Perry S. Bee of Vancouver; her brother, David G. Crosley (Virlena) of Salem; and her sister, Alison K. Sagar of Milwaukie
