Laura Marie Kaster

Laura was born on October 30, 1950 in Portland to Glen and Rose Marie (Rathbone) Turk. She was a 1968 graduate of Clackamas High School. In 1968 she and Jerry Marshall were married in Portland. They later divorced in 1976.

In 1977, Laura married Paul Kaster in Portland. Paul preceded her in death in 2008.

Laura discovered photography while in high school, and spent several years working as a professional wedding and portrait photographer. She always believed that photos were some of the most important things a person could have. She loved sewing, and could make anything, including some of the most adorable baby blankets. She also enjoyed family gatherings, which included many camping trips, picnics, potlucks, and Thanksgiving celebrations spent at the beach. She liked reading and playing cards, and was an excellent cook.

She will be missed by

Her children, Jim Kaster and wife Linda of Estacada, Adria Hatcher of Gladstone, and Greg Marshall of Portland; brother David Turk and wife Noreen of Oregon City; brother-in-law Ken Kaster and wife LeeAnne of Corbett; sister-in-law Joyce Olsen and husband Doug of Powell Butte; uncle Fred Rathbone and wife Lee of Gresham; grandchildren Breanne Grubbs and her son Collin, and Kenny Kaster, Steven Kaster, and Olivia Wait; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Public visitation will take place on Sunday, August 26 from 9 am to 12:30 pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in Portland, followed by a graveside funeral service at Lincoln Memorial Park at 1:00 pm.
