Joe you always kept me on my toes.  Be it walking to 7-11 and causing everyone to stare at us like we were aliens, to helping me with my math homework all weekend long.  Even if the formula you gave me was over my teachers heads and I flunked them. LOL  You always knew just what to say in most any situation.  I'm going to miss your sense of humor and Banjo and mouth harp playing.  Sleep well big brother you will be missed.

I had the privilege of working with Joe on many projects. He was a great engineer and he worked hard to find solutions that satisfied everyone. Sometimes the projects were stressful, but Joe could always see the humor in the situation. We will miss him.
I remember Joe loved books relating to boats. I never knew where Joe got the books, but he would find them and share with me. They usually involved a boat, be it Antarctica exploration, submarines or even canoeing the Nile River, Joe had many and they were always interesting reading.

Joe was an amazing craftsman who, given enough time, could build anything out of wood.  We have two beautiful pieces of custom furniture in our home that are very special to us.  Joe made sure he knew exactly what we wanted before he would start, and created pieces I am very proud to have.  He was also a pleasure to work with and patiently helped me a lot.

Grandpa even though you won't be reading this I want everyone to know what a great person you were.You could always make me laugh and smile.You cared about everyone so much and loved everyone so much.I remember when I was little you would sit on the couch and throw the ball for Sam and I would sit next to you on the floor and take your hat.We would sit there with smiles on our faces.Every time I came over I would always come in your room and tell you I love you and that I missed you.I would always ask what you were doing and you always would be drawing your houses, buildings,schools and cars.I remember you were so good at it and they all looked so cool.I have so many memories of you and I will hold onto them forever because you meant so much to me.Rest in peace grandpa, I love you so much. Not enough can be said about this dedicated man. He was not only a hard worker, but he always provided stability for his family. Even people who became "extended family". Many many years ago ..I remember when I was living with him and his family, working clear in Beaverton. He would wake up every morning I worked and drive me to the max. Sometimes it was 5am!! He made sure those he cared about were always taken care of. He was always so creative and it was amazing to watch all of the things he would create with wood. I am hoping Joe you not only rest in peace, but are happily fishing in your very own handcrafted boat with Cindy, Maggie and Sam by your side.

You will be truly missed. You are a wonderful and amazing man. The love you have for your family and Dianna was so deep. Thank you for being there for us the last year and I could never express my gratitude to you. I will miss your smile and our sense of humor. You are truly missed.

It is truly difficult to put into words how you feel about someone, when they had meant so much.  Joe was such a person.  
Having moved into a house next to me and my family on Long Street, with his family, they showed me what the definition of a friend truly means.  
You could always count on Joe.  At the drop of a hat, from helping me through mechanical difficulties with my little black truck, my interesting family, teaching me to dance, letting me come with Dianna and him on a camping trip (and seeing you with your fishing hat on), watching you create life into a piece of wood or even just having a cup of coffee in the morning  you were always there with loving patience and kindness in letting me know that it was okay to have ups and downs in life.  Your strength was gentleness in making me believe and know that everything will be all right.  
When you meet someone that means the world to you and they go before  I know that that they have not.  They are forever etched in your heart and soul.  Joe was such a person.

I already miss your always positive attitude and talking with you about your sketch-up drawings and your dogs.

I always enjoyed working with Joe.  His continuously positive attitude during the worst of times always made me glad to see and talk with him. 

We will miss him greatly here at work with his positive attitude and hard work ethic.

This world lost a great individual when Joe was called home.  The only sense I can make of it is that God needed a Marine to guard the Pearly Gates.  That said, the love, the caring, and wonderful insight that Joe was will always stay with us.
 Joe always had a smile on this face and every time he talked to me he would ask how our German Shepard was doing.  He even remembered her name.

Joe, you were always so open and inviting to me. From the very beginning. The way you opened your house and your heart was something I'll never forget. I'll always cherish our moments that turned into memories. From us going for a drive up in the woods to catching a movie down the street or having one of our many simple conversations about dogs or football. We always managed to share a laugh. I've missed you this past year and I will continue missing you and the way you enjoyed the simple things in life. I know you're presence will be deeply missed in your family and for anyone that had the chance to call you a friend.
