Jerry Fritz

Jerry Owen Fritz passed away on December 27, 2014 in Portland, Oregon. He was born in Marysville, California to parents Owen and Loretta Fritz, one of four children- two boys and two girls. He had one brother, Gary Hamby (deceased) and two sisters, Janet Day and Susan Crum.

On December 27, 1964, Jerry married Colleen Brown. Jerry brought the same traditional values in his marriage to bear on how he raised his children. He was a good parent to them, always firm yet fair in his dealings. Jerry was blessed with three children: two daughters, Cheryl Spicer and Wendy Larson and one son, Steven Fritz. They were also blessed with eight grandchildren, James Spicer, Nick Spicer, Jamie Dent, Jozie Larson, Mylee Larson, Kaylynn Pelton, Zachary Fritz, and Megan Fritz.

Jerry served his country honorably in the US Air Force. After his service, Jerry worked for 45 years as a barber, retiring in 2014. His favorite pursuits were game and duck hunting and fishing. Jerry was content to enjoy his hobbies alone but was also willing to share his interests with others. Jerry coached Little League Baseball for 10 years. He would watch his favorite sporting events whenever he got the opportunity. Tops on his list were football, basketball, and baseball.

He is survived by his children, Cheryl, Wendy, and Steven; grandchildren James, Nick, Jamie, Jozie, Mylee, Kaylynn, Zachary, and Megan, and sisters Janet and Susan. Services were held at Lincon Memorail Funeral Home. Jerry was laid to rest in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.
